Room Thirteen - Why Won't You Review - 08/27/06

A band with a unique voice that’s for sure, for a bunch of sisters, well, two sisters and an honorary one (who’s male incidentally). It’s a good band-formula, so what about the music? ‘Why Won’t You’ is fairly rampant and hard, like Black Sabbath being slapped by The Kills, there’s very strong vocals throughout, bag-on-time guitar and a chorus that lives forever, it’s a good single to bring in new album The Invisible Deck.

But it’s B-side ‘Sooner Or Later’ that sparks my interest. A quirky, percussion-laden experimental piece that displays fully the possibilities of this band and the potential of what they have to offer. Yes, if you like it all a little left of centre and turned about-face and inside out The Roger Sisters are the ones for you, Too Pure’s signing can’t go much wrong with ‘Why Won’t You’ and what’s to follow….
