The Rogers Sisters – Why Won’t You ***
Indie Disco Smash

‘Why Won’t You’ is another powerful dancefloor anthem with pushing drums, snatchy guitar parts, firm basslines, and of course, the typical multi-vocal background singing of Miyuki Furtado and sisters Jennifer and Laura Rogers.

It starts with the stomping beat of the drums, then the guitar and bass playing begins, until suddenly Miyuki and the girls repeat the same lines over and over again, getting more energetic, almost aggressive.

The Brooklyn trio sound like Le Tigre meeting The (International) Noise Conspiracy, and celebrating the good ol’ days of The B-52s, Gang of Four and the likes. It’s political, it’s intense, it’s powerful, but still made for those entering the dancefloor of their local indie club.

Party, riot, or both – you decide.

‘Why Won’t You’ is released as a single through Too Pure on 21st August 2006.
